I recently completed a course through The Define School called Foundations of iPhoneography by the insanely talented Audrey Blake Breheny. I'm happy to call Audrey a friend. We met at Field Trip and I was captivated by her zest for life, encouraging way with others and BUBBLING personality. We were instant friends. THEN, I realized she taught this class.
I didn't know if I could add the class into my schedule for April but I decided to push it and go for it! I signed up and two days later the Define School ran a sale on the class for $75 off! What a steal!
The class touches on iPhone basics, how to use it best, tips for style and composition and so forth. Then it dives further into taking your photos to "the next level." Do you see photos on Instagram and wonder "How is that and iPhone photo?" Well guess what, they are! (And if NOT, they should be tagged #notiphone or #dslr or something of the like!).
I learned a lot, had some fun pushing my boundaries and walked away with some pretty images. Here are a few of my faves.
And then I was able to revisit an old favorite and tweak it to make it EVEN BETTER. This is my favorite photo ever. I need to get it printed ASAP!
How does this affect clients? I'm often pulling out my iPhone on shoots to take preview shots or even get a few good ones to use in the set. It's pretty awesome to be able to carry around a high quality phone in my pocket or purse. In fact, any one who asks "what kind of camera do I get?" I always answer: iPHONE! It's a great tool! Happy Wednesday!
