One of the best concepts I learned on my awesome Field Trip was in my first class of the day on Saturday morning. The class was taught by the amazing Braedon Flynn, a Wedding and Portrait photographer in Orange County.
He said "to stay fresh and relevant and inspired ... I 'self-assign'!" I had never heard it put this way. Yes, "shoot for yourself" is the concept but this was a little deeper. Assign yourself a mission, challenge yourself to go further, assign yourself new concepts to shoot ... SELF ASSIGN.
Over Easter weekend, with slightly less pressure and no bookings, I was able to shoot and PLAY a bit more and have some fun. I think I can and will and want to push myself MORE, but this was a start.
Chickens! We visited a tiny coop and now I want chickens! I'm totally serious. And the kids are on board ... if now we could convince the neighbors that this is a classy idea and oh yeah, get Daddy on board! ;)
Note to self: DO THIS MORE! :)
