I really cannot let this moment pass with NO words, even though the photos speak 1,000 words for me. Yesterday, Luke started Kindergarten! I have no idea how he suddenly went from a little boy to a school-aged boy overnight (he even looks like it!).
We made the decision this year to send him to 1/2 day Kindergarten in the school where he'd have his IEP and been going over the last two years. The school is "his" and is something he is familiar with and is a WONDERFUL place. I have had really great interactions with the caring staff, teachers and special ed instructors. I'm really pleased that this IS the right decision for him for now. Come January, we'll make decisions on his next year of school ... another year of Kindergarten but full day at "our" school or make the big leap to First grade? There are arguments to both sides and we have time in our favor for now. :)
SO, yesterday was his FIRST DAY!
He was very patient with me in allowing me to take so many pictures (rest assured, when he was done, he was DONE!)
(I wish I could explain to you how much he looks like his birth half brother in those pictures above! CRAZY SIMILAR from skin coloring to looks and that smirk!!!!)
And the big thrill of the day was getting to ride on a bus. The bus picks him up right at the end of our driveway! :) The bus driver even let Mommy and Noah ride with him to school on the first day and brought us back?!? It was awesome!
Here he was on the bus. He did a FABULOUS job and his only complaint was that it was hot (which is was, can you say boob sweat?)
All reports were in and it was a GREAT DAY! :) I'm excited (and nervous) for his school adventure to begin! Oh, and here is a cute picture of little brother on Luke's first day of school. Lil stinker I should say!
