Since April 20th I've been religiously (and by religiously I mean EVERY DAY and hit a hundred day in a row streak of exercise in July) working out using Beachbody and Shakeology daily. And I've had GREAT success (if I do say so myself!). To date I've lost just over 11 lbs on my way to my goal of 17 lbs. If I hit this particular goal then I will weigh the same as the DAY I found out I was pregnant with Noah (um...on December 23rd 2009!?!?!?). In addition to that number I've also lost 11 INCHES off of my body!?!?!? I'm quite literally shrinking!
I know the weight is a number. But it is my number. I think we all have a magic number.
My ultimate goal that I'm throwing out into the great interwebs is to roll into my fourties looking and feeling my VERY BEST EVER. Past that goal ... I want to wear a bikini next summer. Something that hasn't been done in many, many years. Perhaps by putting it out there, it will hold me even more accountable to achieve these goals!
One very fun thing (there are many) about Beachbody and a Challenge group is being HELD ACCOUNTABLE for your workout and commitment to daily workouts. Each day we post a "selfie" of us sweaty after workout. It is shared privately. Once shared we encourage and support one another. I cannot tell you the number of days I simply got my workout in ONLY BECAUSE I KNEW OTHERS WOULD and I didn't want to be left behind.
Taking the selfie is something I like to try and get creative with ... and it's also a great way to see your progress and see your muscle definition begin to take shape!! WHOA! I love that.
Other great things? The 30 minute home workout, not worrying about gym clothes, not dragging my kids to the Y (although I miss it and still go occasionally), shakeology (serious LOVE this product and the curbed cravings and protein packed yummy shake!!!) and the great opportunities.
I'm excited to reach my goals. It actually has taken longer than I had hoped ... but it is also a reminder that nothing worthwhile comes easy. And that I'm in this for the LONG HAUL ... not the short term gains.
