Like any good fad, I like to jump in.
I couldn't help myself. First I got addicted to the knitting loom and was/am making all of these fantastic scarves (in my spare time!??!). Honestly though, it is such a good creative outlet. It's nice to SEE SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE after working with your hands. I mean. I clean my house for hours with my hands and 2 seconds later its a disaster zone. ;) Ya feel me?
So anyway. I've been seeing these amazing blankets in my IG feed made from the thickest yummiest yarn. I KNEW I had to try it. I researched the yarn and the You Tube video for more info. My yarn arrived this week and I was excited to get started.
Like any knitting project, the hardest parts are starting it and finishing it. I had to watch it several times to try and get it right. And, it was really fun. AND ... took me way longer than the proclaimed 45 minutes. However, I think I could do another one in 45 now that I have the hang of it.
My arms seemed a bit awkward at first and like I didn't have enough space to function but I eventually made it work. I LOVE how chunky the fun yarn is and before long I was feeling cozy and warm with a big pile of soft yarn on my lap.
I finished it up last night and was happy with my end result. I had a few issues, ran out of yarn and it is not sized exactly like I'd like, but it's still pretty awesome. We put it on our bed last night and our bed was indeed warmer and cozier. The kids loved laying on this fluffy and soft blanket!
I would indeed do it again ... IF I find discounted yarn! This blanket cost me about $50. ;) I'll be on the look out for a good sale to try this again b/c I'd like it wider and wider means MORE YARN!!! I recommend trying it though for the mere fun factor OR the instant gratification factor! HAPPY KNITTING!
